A native of Marietta, Georgia, Dr. Brad Andersen received his bachelor’s degree in biology from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, and earned his doctorate of dental medicine degree from the Dental College of Georgia in Augusta.

As a dental education student, Dr. Andersen volunteered with the Georgia Mission of Mercy. He also was heavily involved with the Hispanic Dental Association, and served as vice president. Each year, he volunteered at a local farm, where he provided oral health care screenings and hygiene instruction to migrant workers and underprivileged members of the community. Because of this involvement, he was the recipient of the Academy of Dentistry International Student Servant Leadership Award.

For two years, Dr. Andersen served as a missionary for his church in Mexico City, Mexico. While living there, he developed a love for the culture and people — and spicy food!

Dr. Andersen enjoys mountain biking and photography. He and his wife, Courtney, enjoy hiking together with their dogs, along with kayaking, scuba diving and traveling. They look forward to raising their family in the Kingsport community.
